JJ Gontarczyk, the owner/designer of KUBAGON debuted his company at the ICFF 2008. The company takes its name after JJ Gontarczyk’s patent pending joinery system. The central idea behind KUBAGON furniture is simplicity, logic and precision. JJ Gontarczyk designs and makes his one-of-a-kind and custom furniture using reclaimed precious lumber such as ebony and rosewood and combines them with domestic hard wood. Since his debut he has received press and exposure in magazines such as Metropolitan Home, La Reppublica Milano, Prestige House, Apartment Therapy and was featured at Metropolitan Home’s Showtime House in 2009.
JJ Gontarczyk was born in Warsaw, resides and works in NYC. He holds an MFA with Merit in Architecture and Industrial Design from the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. He also studied at the Darmstadt School of Architecture.
